The iPhone X drew gasps of approval when it emerged last year with just a tiny black bar disrupting the all-screen front of the phone.
From then on, the race to build new phones with smaller and smaller “notches” was on .
The Huawei P20, LG G7, OnePlus 6 and Asus Zenfone 5 have all followed the trend.
But Chinese tech giant Lenovo looks to have gone one better.
The company has released a design sketch of its upcoming Lenovo Z5 which shows the entire handset is just one big slab of glass on the front.
No fingerprint scanners, no camera lenses, not even an earpiece is blemishing the front of this luxurious wedge of gadget nirvana.
According to a VP at Lenovo called Cheng Chang, the forthcoming all-screen phone is a result of “18 patented technologies” and “four technological breakthroughs.”
Amazing stuff, isn’t it? Although, we’d hate to think of the repair bill for when all of us (inevitably) drop it.
Also, there doesn’t appear to be too much in the way of concrete details about this new handset – like when it’ll come out or what it’ll cost.
Still, it makes you wonder what might come next – maybe an entirely translucent piece of bendy plastic like in Minority Report?
